You didn't cause me to speculate, Big Sexy. It was just the natural thing to think considering her age and all we'd been through at work, and all she'd been through at home.
It just never made sense for someone so young to die in their sleep.
Most people I know were praying that what we were thinking wasn't true.

One of Maureen's more notable characteristics was her cautious nature. Before I went to Winnipeg she on more than one occasion admonished me to be careful. And then a couple times after I got back.
So, yeah, there is a bit of irony that one of the most safety conscious people I know would pass away resulting from a possible accident.
I do have a question. We found out Thursday that she passed away. She didn't show up for work - how many days had she not shown up for work before someone went to her house and found her?
It usually seemed like she was pretty happy to be in here.
I'll say it again.
I fell good, as we all should, about the fact that we made her life a little happier. Some in here, like myself, and some here and outside of the board.
I only met her once, at the gathering we had at the Dubliner, but she seemed pretty much like the person she was in her posts.
That's how I'd like to remember Dulc!

Not afraid to speak her mind about most topics, and also not afraid to make jokes about them as well.

Something that has been nagging at me so I have to ask: were her little kids home when this happened, or were they with their father? I hate to think they were home and didn't know what was going on with her...

As I mentioned before, we'd set this up the week prior, but had to firm up the place and exact time. So when I emailed and posted around Monday or Tuesday prior and she didn't return the message, I began to wonder. Considered calling her at home, but that number isn't listed (I only had her cell, which didn't work). I work on the north side of town, so on Saturday after I left the office, I considered driving over and knocking on her door, but since I'd never been there before I thought that might be a bit much since she seemed so guarded. So I didn't.
It just didn't make sense that she'd just drop it. Afterall, she's the one who picked the day to meet and even sent out an email invite to a third person.
I guess I got confused because you posted on Thursday that she died either that morning or the day before. Was trying to figure out how long she'd been "missing" before anyone went looking for her.

That's why I was wondering about the time frame between her absence and finding her. I've wondered where the children were; she seemed to be well tuned to their activities.
The cell phone thing baffled me as somewhere in our date thread she posted that the children were the only ones who used it to call her. But when I tried to call it, all I'd get was a quick beep, then nothing.
So, I don't know. This sounds so self-centered, but I'd like to get some answers so I can get closure on this, get rid of the nagging feeling...

The kids were with their father.
Her obit was in today's paper. I think the print version has a photo, but I haven't seen a paper yet.
SUCHANEK Maureen Kelly Suchanek, May 21, 1957 - July 19, 2006. Maureen left this earthly life and returned to Heaven where she was reunited with her beloved son, George, and her loving father. Born to Donald B. and Blanche Spencer Kelly in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was blessed with an incredible mind and a love for life. Her greatest treasurers in this life were her three sons, George, Samuel and David. She also treasured the companionship and support of her co-workers at Procter & Gamble where she had been employed as a principal research scientist since November 1987. She is survived by her mother; sisters, Kathleen (Bill) Goodbaudy, Oregon; Annette (Kimball) Gillis, Salt Lake City; and her wonderful sons, Sam and David. She was a strong, kind person and had a very good heart. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. A memorial gathering will be held in her honor on Thursday, July 27th at the Procter & Gamble Mason Business Center, from 11:30 A.M. to 1 P.M. in Mason, Ohio. Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawn, Salt Lake City, Utah.
